Hiding in viruses
Simple tactic, but if it goes wrong you could be popped at a tiny size, where the vultures will target you and kill you. You must be below 132 mass, and if you want to not be seen, you must be below 99. If someone shoots you a W, you will grow and you will maybe pop. Put your cursor in the middle of your cell, so you are motionless. When all threats have left, you can exit and continue collecting.
Virusing
If you already know how to shoot a virus (if you don't, go to the "Virus Tricks"), then this is a great way to defend yourself. But mostly only on FFA, Teams, and Party. If you virus on Experimental, the virus will be moved and you may not be able to escape, especially since they are angry with you. So let's use FFA an an example. Say you are 1000, and there is a cell with the mass to split on you, with a virus nrby. That cell will probably chase you, and you don't want to be its next meal, right? So you can virus him, or shoot at him, sending him a clear message. "Back off!" If you hit him, you may be able to pursue and get some extra mass. If not, he will see that you don't want him around. If he doesn't, and still chases you, shoot at him again.
Splitting away from a split
This may seem simple, but it is actually much harder than it looks on a simple video. You have to know wif they're gonna kill you, if they aren't big enough, you will lose half your mass for noting! If they are going to kill you, you also have to have good reflexes and know when someone is near. If splitting away is going to leave you with less mass than you spawn with, then just don't, unless there is an opportunity for better mass nearby (cluster of dots, person in 16, etc.) If you spawn witth more mass than you will have if you split away, let them kill you. You can respawn and get revenge pn your killer.
